Reduce VAT for Hospitality (1 min read)

Updated: Jun 4, 2023

Hospitality is the lifeblood for so many employers, employees, suppliers and communities alike. The current VAT rate is 20% during what is arguably the toughest time pubs, bars and restaurants have ever faced. Thousands (over 13,500 in 3 days) have already signed the petition which can be seen and signed by clicking here . The industry needs over 100,000 signatures for Government to debate and respond. The petition reads: Reduce the VAT on Hospitality to 10% from the current rate of 20% to allow Hospitality to survive the storm - or risk losing a large proportion of the industry to it.

The current tax system is disproportional and should be changed alongside changes in tax on supermarkets and online sales.
